NetAsset - Creating Assets Error Messages

Overview

A primary benefit of NetAsset is the ability to create assets from source transactions in NetSuite. However, certain errors may occur if NetSuite is not set up correct, or the setup changes. The purpose of this article is to provide insight into particular error messages that may appear.

Error Messages

"The account (XXX) is an inactive account. Please correct the import file and resubmit"

  • This error message will appear if any accounts on the source transaction are marked inactive after the source transaction has been created.
  • For example, the following journal entry was created in NetSuite but account 2001 was inactivated after creation:
  • The Create Assets from Proposals screen will appear as usual.
  • However, upon saving of the newly created asset, the following warning banner will appear.
  • On the System Notes subtab, the below error message will appear. The inactive account will be identified by its internal ID (i.e. 432).
  • To confirm, navigate to the chart of accounts and see that this account is marked as inactive.
  • To correct this error message, the account must re-activated or updated to an active account on the source transaction.
  • Additionally, the newly created asset must be tagged in the NetAsset Asset field on the Clearing account line of the source transaction.
  • Once updated, the asset will appear as if it was created without the inactive account and there will be no further issues
