Shared Transactions - Intercompany Vendor Bill Automation for Custom Segments
Overview
The Intercompany Vendor Bill Automation feature in Netgain Shared Transactions streamlines the process for clients needing intercompany "arm's length transactions" by automating the creation of intercompany vendor bills from intercompany invoices. For organizations utilizing custom segments, additional configuration is necessary to enable the intercompany billing feature and ensure its functionality.
Prerequisites
Custom segments must already be created. Also ensure that the initial setup steps outlined in the Shared Transaction - Intercompany Invoice to Bill Automation article have been completed.
Setup
Create a new custom sourcing by navigating to Netgain > Setup > Shared Transaction Sourcing > New.
Fill out the fields as necessary. Note that the required fields for this setup are Name, Custom Segment, and IC Billing: To Bill.
Verify that the custom segment is visible on the invoice form and bill form.
Create the Intercompany Invoice following the instructions on the Shared Transaction - Intercompany Invoice to Bill Automation article.
Fill in the custom segment on the invoice.
Upon saving the invoice for an item associated with an intercompany expense account, a corresponding bill is automatically generated. This bill can be accessed through the "Intercompany Billing" tab on the invoice record.
The custom segment will be sourced onto the generated bill.
