Punchout - How to Create Punchout Tile Custom Portlet for Employee Center Users
Overview:
Due to a NetSuite limitation for Employee Center users, Punchout Tiles must be configured by a NetSuite Administrator or a Netgain Implementation Specialist before being made available to Employee Center users. This document outlines the steps required to create the necessary portlet for these Punchout Tiles.
Steps to Create the Portlet:
Search for Center Tabs:
- In the NetSuite Global Search bar, type "Center Tabs" and select the corresponding option.
Create a New Center Tab:
- In the Center Tabs menu, click on New to create a new tab.
Enter Center Tab Details:
- In the fields provided, enter the following details:
- Label:
Punchout
- ID:
_emp_punchout
- Center:
Employee Center
- Label:
- In the fields provided, enter the following details:
Configure Portlet Content:
- Under the Content section, select the Portlet tab.
- Add three custom portlets to the tab.
- Note: The administrator can create extra portlets as a failsafe in case one of them fails during recreation. This ensures alternative options are available if a portlet encounters an error. You can set the additional portlet to hidden.
Save the Configuration:
- After completing the above steps, click Save.
- Users can then follow the instructions in the corresponding article Adding Punchout Vendor Tiles to the Dashboard to add the tiles after this step is completed.
