NetRental - Create a New Rental Contract

This article outlines the steps required to create a new rental contract in NetRental. A rental contract is the foundational record used to manage customer rentals, including the setup of billing terms, customer information, and organizational classifications. While specific field availability may vary depending on your account configuration, this article focuses on the core fields required to successfully create and save a rental contract.

Key Assumptions

  • You have the NetRental application installed and configured.
  • You have access to the NetRental tab and permission to create new rental contracts.
  • Required fields in your NetSuite environment may vary depending on your custom setup.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the customer you intend to use is already set up in the system.
  • Know your required billing frequency and method.
  • Confirm your department, class, and location classification details (if used in your organization).

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Navigate to:
    NetRental > Manage Rental Contracts > New
  2. A blank Rental Contract form will open.
  3. Customer Selection

    • In the Customer field, select the customer you are creating the rental contract for.
    • Example: Smith Construction
    • Upon selection, the Subsidiary will be automatically populated based on the customer record.
