NetLease Add Custom Fields
ADD CUSTOM FIELDS
You may need to add a custom field to records.
STEP BY STEP PROCESS
- Navigate to the NetLease record to be modified (eg: NetLease Lease) by accessing Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types
- Select the record hyperlink.
- On the Forms subtab, select “Edit” (or "customize") to the left of the "Netgain Default Lease Form".
- Change the name to whatever you would like.
- Make sure the "Form is Preferred" button is checked. Use the drop-down arrow next to the save button to select "Save As". Selecting "Save As" creates a new form from the Netgain default form rather than simply editing the default form. On most records, Netgain has created the preferred form, which is often a good start to creating your own form. Be aware that editing the Netgain form directly is not recommended if you plan on doing any customizations as changes will get erased upon bundle update. By creating your own form via "Save As", the customizations will remain after a bundle update.
- Navigate to the new form by selecting the "Forms" subtab and clicking the "Edit" button next to the new form.
- Navigate to the "Fields" subtab - Fields > New Field.
- This opens up the creation screen for a new field to be added to the record. Enter the label, ID, and type for the new field. This new field can be populated with the value from another record by using custom sourcing (see our article Manage Custom Sourcing for more information).
- Click Save.
- Navigate back to the form and go to the Fields subtab. Check the "Show" box next to the field you created. Select the appropriate "Field Group" from the dropdown menu. Drag the field to the position you want. Make sure the "Form is Preferred" box is checked.
- Select Save to save preferences. The new field will now show as a fillable option for every lease.
