NetCash - Scheduling automation rules
Overview
NetCash automation rules run through three Map/Reduce scripts:
- NetCash | Bank - Automate - Create | MR
- NetCash | Bank - Automate - Match | MR
- NetCash | Bank - Automate - Trans | MR
To run your rules on a customized schedule, create your own deployment of the script and schedule that.
Do not schedule the deployments that come with NetCash.
They are installed as Not Scheduled, and a NetCash update can set them back to Not Scheduled after you change them. This is the most likely cause of rules not running after an app update. To avoid this, create a deployment yourself.
Step-by-step process
These steps use the Create script. Repeat them for the Match and Trans scripts if you want those to run on a schedule too.
- Go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.
- Open the NetCash | Bank - Automate - Create | MR script record.
- Click Deploy Script.
- Set Status to Scheduled.
- Configure the schedule on the Schedule subtab. See "Choosing a schedule" below.
- Click Save.
NetSuite creates a new deployment record with an ID that starts with customdeploy_. You can rename it to anything that helps your team, for example "NetCash - Create - Daily 6 AM". Renaming it does not affect the schedule.
Choosing a schedule
- Run automation after your bank sync. If the automation job and the bank sync job run at the same time, Create Transaction rules can produce duplicate journal entries. Schedule your deployment one to two hours after the bank sync finishes so the day's activity is fully imported before rules run.
- Use a daily recurrence with no end date unless you have a reason to run less often. A Single recurrence runs once, then returns to Not Scheduled.
- You can create more than one deployment of the same script if you need different run times.
Confirming a deployment was reset
If you are not sure why rules stopped running on a schedule, open the deployment and check its history.
- Go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.
- Open the NetCash | Bank - Automate - Create | MR script record.
- Select Deployments.
- Open the deployment record.
- Go to System Notes.
- Look for a change to Status and compare its date to your last NetCash update.
If the change lines up with an update and the record is one of the NetCash default deployments, create your own deployment using the steps above.
