NetClose Release Notes 8/27/26

NetClose Versions 2026.1.51 - 2026.1.67

Reconciliations

New Features

  • New Reconciliation Consolidated Report shows reconciliation balances consolidated across subsidiaries. Columns cover currency, beginning balance, debit and credit activity, ending balance, explained and unexplained amounts, type, and note, with a link through to each reconciliation. Filter by period, account group, subsidiary, consolidated to, and accounting book.

Enhanced

  • New Filter drop down titled "Date Filter Type" on Reconciliation Transaction Detail report. When "Posting Period" is selected, transactions are filtered by accounting (posting) period; when "Transaction Date" is selected, they are filtered by transaction date. Only accounting periods that fall cleanly within the selected date range are included.

Tasks

New Features

  • Two new System Setup settings, "Exclude Task Types from Close Dashboards" and "Exclude Task Classifications from Close Dashboards", keep work that is not part of month-end off the close dashboards. Select any number of task types or classifications, and tasks matching them drop off My Work, Close Progress, and Close Trends.
  • Excluded tasks still appear on the Task List and the Task Board, and tasks with no classification are never excluded.

Comments (cross-module)

New Features

  • Comments now carry a status: Created, Assigned, Addressed, then Closed. Assign a comment to a user and they are emailed; mark it Addressed once handled, then Closed to finish the loop. Status changes notify the other people on the thread, and @-mentions still work as before.
  • Threaded replies keep a discussion together on the record instead of as separate comments. Replies stay one level deep, so a thread never nests into a chain.
  • A Has Comments indicator on the reconciliation and task lists shows which records carry commentary without opening each one.
  • New setting in NetClose System Settings called "Auto Assign Comments" in the Enable Features sections under the General subtab. This allows the system to auto assign comments to users. For example, a user will @Stacy in a comment. The comment is now auto assigned to Stacy. Once Stacy marks it "Addressed" the comment is then auto assigned back to the original user who created the comment who can then mark it "Closed".

Close dashboards (cross-module)

New Features

  • Close Progress now shows an Outstanding Comments table next to the Module Completion Breakdown. Each row links to the record the comment sits on, and you can view the table as a flat list or group it by assignee, status, or module.
  • My Work now has an Open Comments row under the due-date buckets in My Items at a Glance, with separate counts for comments assigned to you and comments you authored. Expand the row to read them; each one shows whether it is assigned to you or authored by you, along with its current status.
  • Both views treat a comment as open until it is closed or deleted, so Created, Assigned, and Addressed comments all appear. A comment with no status yet counts as Created.
  • Comments follow the visibility rules of the records they sit on. If you cannot see a reconciliation, task, or flux analysis, its comments never reach your dashboard.

Enhanced

  • The predicted close date is now calculated the same way as the target close date, so the two agree.

Reporting (cross-module)

New Features

  • New Comments report lists all comments across tasks, reconciliations, and flux analyses with their current status, along with the record name, author, assignee, and period.

Setup and administration

New Features

  • Bulk custom role permission import sets NetClose custom record permissions across many roles at once from NetClose System Setup. It runs on its own script deployment, separate from the CSV importer. Access is limited to administrators.
  • New CSV record import brings NetClose records in from CSV through the Netgain import wizard. Access is limited to administrators.

Enhanced

  • Field-level help text now covers far more NetClose fields, so definitions are available without leaving the record.
  • The legacy Advanced Flux AI checkbox has been removed from System Setup. It no longer did anything; Flux AI comes with having Flux enabled.
