NetClose Release Notes 10/30/26
NetClose Versions 2026.1.71 - 2026.2.11
Highlights
- Pending amortizations can now be rejected instead of deleted, and a new setting holds amortization modifications for approval before they change the schedule.
- Amortization transfers can now move an amortization to a new amortization type, carrying the remaining prepaid balance to the new balance sheet account.
- Review Flux Analysis has a new Formatted Export that builds an Excel workbook laid out as a balance sheet and income statement, with variance explanations on the rows.
- System Setup has a new layout, and users who can't change settings can now open it to see which ones are turned on.
Amortizations Updates
New Features
- A Reject button on pending amortizations sets their status to Rejected, so an amortization you decide not to run stays on record instead of being deleted or inactivated. The button is on the amortization record and next to Commence on the Commence Amortizations page. Rejecting deletes any schedule lines already generated, and the source transaction line does not return to Create From Transaction.
- New System Setup setting "Require Approval for Amortization Modifications", on the System Features tab under Amortizations, is off by default. When it is on, modifications and write-offs entered on an amortization start as Pending and do not change the schedule until they are approved. Approving applies the modification, and rejecting leaves it on the amortization as Rejected with no effect. The Modification Status field is now required, so CSV imports and scripts that create modifications must set it.
- Approve and Reject buttons appear on a pending modification for users other than the person who created it, when their role has Edit or Full access to NetClose Amortization Modification.
- While a modification is pending approval, its amortization is left off the Run Amortization Journals and Transfer pages until the modification is approved or rejected.
- The Transfer Destination section now includes Type, Balance Sheet Account, Income Statement Account, and Clearing Account. Picking a type fills in its accounts. The transfer journal moves the remaining prepaid balance from the old balance sheet account to the new one, and later periods expense to the new accounts.
- Create From Transaction has a new Amount Filter Type with two options. Line Amount, the default, compares the Min and Max amounts to each line. Transaction Total compares them to the transaction's total, including tax, so a bill over your capitalization threshold appears even when no single line is. With Transaction Total selected, the grid adds a column for each transaction's total, and every line on a qualifying transaction is listed, subject to the page's other filters.
- The Amortization Roll Forward and Amortization Waterfall reports have a new Date Filter Type. Transaction Date, the default, places activity by schedule line date. Posting Period places it by the posting period of the journal entry, and lines without a journal entry yet fall back to the schedule line date.
- Both reports can now export at the level you are viewing. A collapsed amortization type exports as one summary row, and an expanded type exports its amortizations.
Enhanced
- The Amortization Roll Forward report now carries an amortization's balance into periods with no schedule line. For example, when you run it for March, an amortization capitalized in January that starts expensing in August now shows its balance.
- Both reports now have an Amortization ID column.
- On the Amortization Roll Forward report, the Posted view is now named Processed. It leaves out schedule lines whose journal entry is not yet posting, such as one pending approval.
- A start date before the capitalization date is now allowed after you confirm it, on the amortization record and on Create From Transaction, instead of being blocked. Changing the Capitalization Date no longer overwrites the Start Date.
- On Create From Transaction, From Date and To Date are optional when a posting period is selected.
- Journal entries posted by an amortization schedule can no longer be deleted in the NetSuite UI. The message names the reversal to use instead.
Flux Analysis Updates
New Features
- The export button on Review Flux Analysis is now a menu with two choices. Excel Export is the existing export of the grid rows. Formatted Export builds an Excel workbook with a Balance Sheet tab and an Income Statement tab.
- In the formatted workbook, each flux group is a section with its accounts. Each account row carries its explanation, and the total row carries the group's explanation when the scenario explains at the group level. Accounts that are not in a flux group appear in Ungrouped sections at the bottom of each half.
- Columns are the comparison balance, the current balance, Change $, Change %, Explanation, Prepared by, and Reviewed by.
- One workbook covers one subsidiary and one segment. When the grid holds more than one, a dialog asks which to export. The export follows the filters set in the Filters panel but not the search box, so clear the filters first to get the full statement.
- Accounts with no balance in either period and no explanation are left out, and the sheet states how many were hidden.
Enhanced
- Flux AI explanations are now generated by OpenAI's GPT-6 Luna model, replacing GPT-5.4 mini.
Setup and Administration
New Features
- System Setup has a new layout, with its settings on vertical tabs: General, System Features, Import Tools, License/Usage, and Manage Upgrades.
- Users who can't change System Setup can now open it to see which settings are turned on or off. The Edit button appears for users whose role has Create access or higher to Setup > Enable Features. Other users see a View only badge.
Enhanced
- The Data Import Wizard and the Bulk Custom Role Permissions Import tool have several improvements.
