NetClose - Permissions Overview
Overview
This article outlines the required and optional permission configurations available in NetClose. Before configuring any permissions, the NetClose SuiteApp must be installed in the NetSuite instance. Please see the articles linked below for more detailed walkthroughs.
Required Configuration
In order to grant users access to NetClose:
- Employees must be configured as NetClose Users, which provides baseline access to the NetClose SuiteApp.
- Granular permissions must be configured by role, which determine what users can see and do within NetClose.
Optional Configuration
In addition to the above, NetClose offers:
- Role Based Subsidiary Restrictions
- Authorized Viewers for Tasks and Reconciliations
Optional: NetClose Tab Visibility
If you'd like to restrict the visibility of the NetClose tab on your NetSuite navigation bar, follow the instructions below.
By default, the NetClose tab is visible to roles assigned to the Accounting Center, Classic Center, and NetClose Administrator Center. The NetClose Administrator Center is a custom center created by the SuiteApp and is assigned exclusively to the NetClose Administrator role. For additional information on Centers and Custom Centers, refer to this NetSuite Help article.
To modify which roles can see the NetClose tab:
- Navigate to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Tabs.
- Locate the three NetClose center tabs.
- Select Edit—do not change the associated center, as the upgrade script relies on the existing center/tab mapping. Altering the center will result in errors.
- Use the Content subtab to control tab visibility by center/role combination.
- Use the Audience subtab to define role access (the default is "Select All").
To provide access to roles in centers other than the three listed above, create a new custom center tab for those centers by replicating the configuration of the existing NetClose tabs.
Note: While roles assigned to these centers will see the NetClose tab in the navigation bar, access to specific pages and subtabs is governed by role and employee record settings
