NetAsset - Asset Register Roll Forward Report
Purpose
The Asset Register Roll Forward report is a Netgain scripted report that contains a full listing of all assets with start-of-period and end-of-period balances, as well as reporting period activity. By default, grouped by asset type.
How To
Navigation:
NetAsset > Reports (All or Subledger Reports) > Asset Register Roll Forward > Run
Filtering:
The report search can be narrowed down by adjusting the filters for subsidiary, department, location, accounting period, class, location, or date range. Once filters are set as desired, click the refresh arrow to apply the filters and to view the report.
Results
Upon running the schedule, the user will see a summarized detail of the asset register for the selected period including the following information:
- Beginning Gross Balance
- Any schedule line impacts to the gross asset value prior to the reporting period selected
- Beginning Accumulated Balance
- Any schedule line impacts to the accumulated asset value prior to the reporting period selected
- Additions
- The expected G/L impact to the fixed asset account due to NetAsset Capitalization Entries
- Depreciation
- The expected G/L impact to the accumulated depreciation account due to NetAsset Depreciation Entries
- Disposals
- The expected G/L impact to the fixed asset and accumulated depreciation account due to NetAsset Disposal Entries
- Revaluations
- The expected G/L impact to the applicable account based on the revaluation type resulting in NetAsset Revaluation Entries
- Ending Gross Balance
- Beginning gross balance + expected G/L impacts from the reporting period selected
- Ending Accumulated Balance
- Beginning accumulated balance + expected G/L impacts from the reporting period selected
Select the Export button to download report into Excel.
Troubleshooting
Is the report missing assets?
1. If desired assets do not appear in the report, check the selected filters to ensure assets are not being restricted from view.
