NetLease - Weighted average rate summary (deprecated)

Overview

The Weighted Average Rate Summary was a saved search that calculated the weighted-average discount rate for the ASC 842-20-50-4(g)(4) lease footnote disclosure. It only worked for leases in a single currency. Leases in multiple currencies required the separate Weighted Average Rate Detail Input search, exported to Excel. Both saved searches are now deprecated.

To produce the weighted-average discount rate, run NetLease > Reports > Disclosure Reports > Weighted Average Rate Report > Run and filter by the last full month of the reporting period.

What changed

The Weighted Average Rate Report replaces both saved searches and adds the following:

  • Multi-currency support - each lease's liability balance and remaining payments are translated to the reporting currency before weighting, so leases in different currencies are weighted together in one report.
  • Consolidation filters - Consolidation Subsidiary, Currency, Consolidated Exchange Rate (Average, Current, Historical, Custom or None) and Consolidation Date control how balances are translated.
  • Show FX Calculations - displays balances in lease, subsidiary and consolidated currency, with the exchange rates used.
  • Weighting by lease classification - each lease's rate is weighted within its own classification, giving separate weighted-average rates for finance and operating leases.
  • Two weighting bases - Weighted Average Rate By Liability Balance and Weighted Average Rate By Remaining Payments.
  • Lease-level detail in the same report - expand a lease type to see each lease's rate, balance and weighted amount, without a separate detail search.
  • Scheduling and export levels - the report can be scheduled and exported at any level, including Full Hierarchy.
